Here is some general info about hosted weekends for non-members. (For privacy reasons, actual events are only visible to Thendara members.)
Weekends at Thendara are often hosted, which means that members volunteer to plan a menu, buy all the food and beverages, and divide the fees evenly among the participants. Participants help out with chores, and can bunk overnight in the lodge or in our screened-in bunkhouse, or bring a tent and camp out.
Here is an example of a hosted weekend write-up:
Winter Weekend at Thendara, Feb. 12-13
Put another log on the fire and join us for a winter weekend! There will be an abundant happy hour to enjoy around a roaring fire. Dinner is a hearty beef stew (with a vegetarian option), with homemade tiramisu for dessert. Late-night gate walk to follow, under the light of the full moon. Breakfast and trail lunch on Sunday, with a 10:30am group hike/snowshoe to Lake Askoti. Hosts require weekend attendees to be fully vaccinated; registration is limited to 20. Please register and advise of your bunking plans by Tues., Feb. 8.
